Girls Who Code
In an effort to always make progress, the AT&T company is determined to develop more inclusive and representative advertising to help the company better connect and grow long term relationships with their diverse customer base. The request was to design unique animated social creative that communicated AT&T’s support for women’s causes during Women’s Day/Women’s History Month. My job was to design a social video that communicated AT&T's support of the organization Girls Who Code. Girls Who Code is helping close the gender gap in technology while helping girls and young women from grades 3 to 12 explore coding and succeed in the field of technology.
When designing this video, I wanted to focus on the organization’s logo and its members first. Images of the GWC members pop in with the beat of the song. I selected audio that communicates a techie, playful and inspirational feeling. The squareness of the characters in the logo is what influenced the sliding graphic backgrounds. I added an extra hidden surprise by adding bold type to the final message “Let’s unlock greatness in young women,” which reveals “great young women.” In addition, a slight zoom was added to both AT&T and GWC logos–highlighting their partnership.
